Hamburg Design & Operations Coordinator Q&A: Henrietta Cant

Introducing our Hamburg Design & Operations Coordinator: Henrietta Cant.

With our client base blossoming in the rainy port city of Hamburg, we’ve welcomed some new faces to the Plantclub team this year. Our ‘Meet the Team’ series continues with Design & Operations Coordinator of Plantclub Hamburg, Henrietta Cant.

So far, we’ve heard from Plantclub Berlin’s Plant Care Coordinator, Angelique, as well as junior Designer Ceren. As Plantclub Hamburg’s Design & Operations Coordinator, Henrietta takes on both these roles as we expand north.

New to the team, she has already executed multiple projects in both Berlin and Hamburg and we can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next!

Plantclub: Describe your background (education, experience, etc.)

Henrietta: I grew up on a farm in rural South Australia, I was constantly outside and surrounded by nature. I have a Bachelor of Design, specialising in Styling & Creative Direction. My previous role provided me with an extensive knowledge about indoor plants and retail management. We created and installed plant design concepts for various companies and offices within Hamburg. Through the retail business, we also consulted our customers with detail, on which indoor plants suited their homes best.

Plantclub: How has your background helped to shape your design values?

Henrietta: I think the combination of growing up in the country and experiencing different cities and countries throughout my life has definitely added to and shaped my values. Meeting different people and cultures always influences you in a way, and I feel I take a lot of my ideas from that.

Plantclub: What do you enjoy most about working with plants?

Henrietta: I really enjoy being able to work with nature. Through my studies and previous role, I have realized the importance of nature in design. I find it so impressive to see how plants can totally transform a space.

Plantclub: What are your values when it comes to leadership?

Henrietta: I believe that communication, transparency and reliability are all important values for leadership.

Plantclub: Whether it's in design or finding creative solutions on the operations side of Plantclub, where do you draw inspiration and/or motivation?

Henrietta: I’m constantly finding inspiration in daily life, nature, books, creative friends -  it’s always surrounding us. I’m motivated by our future clients, to know that they’ve come to us to help them create a new work environment is a big motivator.

Plantclub: Can you share some of the projects you've worked on with Plantclub? What was your favorite part of those processes?

Henrietta: I’ve assisted on a few installations now, namely ESG, BSBI & Smartenergy in Hamburg and Best Secret in Berlin. It's been great to be part of such an international team. For me, it’s always seeing our clients' faces after we’ve helped transform their space.

Plantclub: What do you see as the future of sustainable design?

Henrietta: Industries making better standards and more awareness about the materials used.

Plantclub: What is a project you're proud of, as a part or Plantclub or beyond.

Henrietta: A favorite project of mine was before my time at Plantclub. In my previous role we created and installed an indoor plant concept for a hotel. The space used a lot of different colors and materials and it was a great opportunity to integrate plants within the space. Being quite new to PC, I’m excited for future projects and the creative opportunities with the company.
